Patterns of old, tempting treasures to re-find. Tuesday Temptations… for those that are new and finding their way into the world of stitching… or for those that are searching for favoured stitching treasures that they have missed along the way…
On this Tuesday (Sept 08, 2015)… we bring you a treat for all those ladies who just love a little whimsical and vintage sewing in their day…
Hey Artsy Friends… a few things have been happening over the past couple of days – so I thought I’d buzz in quickly to catch you all up.
Our » BSW Classroom is progressing beautifully… already a couple of free classes have been added for you. They’ve been transferred from our Snickerdoodle Dreams Community but they fit perfectly here. Don’t be shy… join in and have fun stitching, creating and learning some new crafting techniques. A list of classes can be found » BSW Available Classesor on the » Memberships page.
More exciting goodness is coming your way. I think I spy a wintery Snowman on my desk, just waiting for some snow to fall somewhere in the world… don’t think it will be here in Sydney, that’s for sure. That poor guy will surely melt as our summer heats up! I’ll shout out as information becomes available.
I’ve been renovating the blog also… just making things clean and simple, warm and cosy as can be. Minor adjustments and bits to add, wondering where I shall put them. It’s coming together… don’t you just love that aqua teal colour?
Let me know what you think. Most importantly, if I’ve messed up, those dust bunnies have gotten out of control, something that’s not quite working right or it’s down right confusing… shout out loud!
I’ve also finished up a Vintage Sewing themed journal. It will be winging it’s way to Idaho, USA over the next week… it’s been a while since I’ve swapped to the USA. It has 3 full length signatures and 4 half signatures, let’s not make things easy. That’s me, I have to challenge myself. It has loads of delicious coffee stained real estate to record one’s thoughts, feelings, ideas, memories or just doodle the page in artsy creations… Here’s a couple of snap shots of my journal. I’ll post a video later – have to find time to record when no one is home!
Lastly… I just want to say how much I’ve been enjoying making these journals. If the firemen walked into my home and saw all of my scrapbooking papers, etc – they’d have heart failure… LOL!! It’s tidy and organised but there is so much of it. It’s great to finally put those papers to some good use. Just wait and see… I’m sure there just might be… a journal class, just for you to delve into very soon also. I’d love for you to join me in creating one of these beauties and use up all items that are readily available inside your home. Endless possibilities. More on that very soon.
What have you been creating today?
We’d love for you to share your creative and life experiences – just add them to the “Leave a Reply” below or the fancy grey speech bubble. I’m sure you’ve been just as creative and busy as I have.
take care – have a fantabulous day filled with creativity and inspiration
Bee Sew Whimsical has been designing new creations and importantly, looking into creating a specialised class environment just for you, that’s warm, that’s welcoming, that you can be a part of no matter where in the world you are, inside the comfort of your own home – if you want… pj’s are welcomed!
While moving content from NING into our new WordPress home, designing new creations, I’ve managed to find some spare moments and have been researching online class systems for our BSW Classroom. Most were over the top expensive, lacked artistic and techno vision and most – while I totally love learning all about the latest in technology, I’m quite sure most students want clean and simple when it comes to viewing their online courses.
I’ve used WordPress for a little while now, while I was researching – how on earth I missed these guys from LifterLMS, I have no idea, sadly I did. It’s cool.. better late than never. I found them this past month and LifterLMS will be the go to LMS (Learning Management System) for our BSW Classroom. That was such an easy decision, after the demo. For me – it’s the admin/back end of a system that needs to be clean and simple. Time is valuable to me… time I’d rather use designing, being artsy and creative messy, than navigating steep learning curves. I want that most for you too! I love learning, both technology and definitely anything Mixed Media or Quilting related, I can’t wait to share all the new ideas that I’m working on with you, sharing and learning right along with you. In the meantime…
The team at LifterLMS are ever so helpful, even answering my crazy enquiries. They have a bucket load of informative information about working with their platform plus a fabulous LifterLMS Demo of how it all works. Now the guys are giving back to the community that has made them grow into a leading educational platform for your WordPress environment. What better way than something fun for us… a giveaway. All information can be found inside their video.
My very first handmade journal is on it’s way to a new home…
It was my journal for a Freeform Junk Journal Swap (at Junk Journal Junkies). What a fabulous way to just create from one’s ever growing stash. My promise to myself – everything for the journal had to come from my stash. I don’t even think I’ve even made a dent, maybe just a small bump!! Though I did use up an entire 6×6 paper pad – My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found 2 – Rosey. It’s an older collection but oh so gorgeous and went perfectly with the coffee dyed paper.
